Cooper's Hawk, Santa Cruz, Monterey Bay, California
This was the first Cooper's Hawk (Accipiter cooperii) I had ever seen. It was perched in the evening on a beautiful oak tree. I placed the bird on the right of the frame to include the left part of the branch it was sitting on, this, I think, leads your eyes to the bird itself
