Juvenile Bald Eagle on Ice

Juvenile Bald Eagle on Ice

Bald Eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) flock to Klamath Basin at the California and Oregon border every winter. They gather to feed on the waterfowl that flies through there as part of the Pacific Flyway. Instead of hunting them, the eagles just sit on the ice as this juvenile is doing and wait for a duck or goose to die of the cold.
