Staring Peregrine Falcon, San Francisco, California

Peregrine Falcons (Falco peregrinus) are amazing animals. They are the fastest in fact, reaching speeds close to 200mph when they freefall through the sky. They kill their prey by pure force, knocking out birds in mid-flight. To me, this peregrines' stare exemplifies the supreme adaptations of the species. (Captive Animal)
