Brown Pelican Juvenile on Rocks at Sunset
Though Brown Pelicans (Pelecanus occidentalis) are not in danger of being hunted by a larger predator it is really interesting to me how this bird camouflages and blends in to the rocks its roosting on. A second thing of interest is that part of this camouflage is caused by the white guano created by other Brown Pelicans.
