A friend and I set a date to meet up to go photographing along Monterey Bay's coastline. At first the photographic opportunities didn't seem to be too great due to overcast skies and lots of fog, but we decided to check out the beach anyways. We arrived to a happy surprise, the sky had partially cleared and there was a bright slither of light over the ocean's horizon. The Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) completed the image with its stunning and unique silhouette.
