Striped Hyena (Hyaena hyaena) track in dried mud, Hawf Protected Area, Yemen
Most animals in the Hawf Protected Area are extremely secretive as they are hunted or shot on site. This changes their behavior to be more active at night, leaving their footprints as the only evidence that they occupy the area. This Striped Hyena (Hyaena hyaena) track was a perfect print as the animal had stepped into soft mud which subsequently dried up.
