A sad truth about Yemen is that it is littered with trash. Plastic bottles, wrappers, and other garbage can be found everywhere. All these things are simply thrown onto the ground by the locals. There are only few places to throw trash away where it is taken to a landfill, making proper disposal more difficult than in the western world. In Hawf, it often ends up in the ocean, some of which gets washed back up onto shore.
