Tule Elk Photography Workshop

Fall-Point Reyes National Seashore, California
We will photograph the amazing and endemic Tule Elk for a full day in Point Reyes. This photo tour is perfectly timed for the elk to be in rut, which will allow us to see males posturing, calling, possibly fighting, all in the beautiful setting of the California coast. There will also be a high chance of getting close to coyotes and bobcats!

Sea Otter (Enhydra lutris), Elkhorn Slough, Monterey Bay, California

Sea Otter Photography Workshop

December – Moss Landing, California
Want to photograph sea otters from both land and sea? We will spend a full day capturing portraits, mothers and their pups, and bachelor groups of sea otters from both land and sea. Limited to eight people, giving everyone freedom to move around the large boat!

Wild Cat Photography Tours

Mountain Lion (Puma concolor) female hunting, Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia, Chile

Cat Expeditions

Cat expeditions is a tour company I started to run ethical photo tours to see and photograph wild cats all around the world, including some of the lesser known, but just as intriguing smaller wild cats like servals and caracals.

Private Photography Lessons in Bay Area, California

I offer private lessons for people around the Bay Area in northern California, who need help with their photography skills. If you aren’t in the area, virtual lessons are also an option. Generally, this means that we first assess your strength and what you would like to improve on. Please do not feel reluctant because you are completely new to photography, everyone started at that same point.

Lessons are generally field based (unless you prefer a virtual zoom lesson) where we focus on specific aspects of photography, and may be followed by editing sessions on the computer. I usually give lessons on an hour-to-hour basis since people learn and take in material in different ways. I am of course always happy to do a whole day lesson as well.

Please feel free to contact me if you need help with any of these:
-Basic Camera Operations
-Camera versus Lens functions
-Exposure (Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO)
-Histograms
-Depth of Field, Hyperfocal Distance
-White Balance
-Focusing (including fast moving subjects)
-Metering
-External Flash, Fill Flash

Price: $150 per hour
